Irregular Menstrual

The word "menstruation" has passed into our language from the word "Adad", which means "number" in Arabic. Tradition has nothing to do with custom! Its French is “régle” (regl), meaning “rule, order, ruler”. In fact, it is "to be menstruated". In English, it is referred to as “menstruation” or simply “mens”.

According to the menstrual calendar of women, menstrual bleeding, which is seen regularly at intervals of 21 to 35 days, lasts for about 5 to 7 days. It is normal to change about 4 to 5 pads per day during this time. If the menstrual cycle, which differs from person to person, is shorter than 21 days, frequent menstrual periods are mentioned, while if menstrual bleeding occurs in 36 days or less, it is infrequent menstrual period.

In order to determine the appropriate treatment method, the factor causing menstrual irregularity should be determined. After detailed gynecological examination, radiological examination and laboratory tests, the appropriate medicated or surgical treatment method is determined. In the presence of ovarian cyst and polyps or fibroids in the cervix or inside the uterus, laparoscopic hysteroscopy, often known as closed surgery, is performed. Cases of menstrual irregularity, which are excluded from such organic factors, mostly develop due to hormonal irregularity. In such cases, hormonal balance is established and menstrual irregularity is eliminated by applying medication. For a healthy life, do not forget to have regular check-ups.
