In vitro fertilization stages

It includes the process of placing the eggs taken from the mother-to-be and the sperms to be taken from the father-to-be in the uterus after fertilization in the external environment.
Egg Collection
- The uterus and ovaries are checked by ultrasound on the second or third days of menstruation. If there is a problem, it is treated. Afterwards, egg-developing needle treatment is performed. Egg development is examined by looking at the amount of ultrasound and blood hormone at certain periods. After the eggs reach a certain size and maturity, an injection is made to crack the eggs, and egg collection is performed after 34 – 36 hours.
- The eggs are collected under anesthesia. For this reason, patients should be fasting between 6 and 8 hours before the procedure. The process of collecting the eggs takes 30 minutes.
Embryology, Laboratory Process
- After the eggs are collected, there is the process of fertilization of the eggs with the sperm taken from the male. After the development of fertilized eggs is followed and quality embryos are selected from among them, the embryos in question are placed in the mother's womb. These transactions are usually carried out on the third or fifth day.
Embryo Transfer
- This procedure is performed without the need for anesthesia. After cleaning the area where the procedure will be performed, the embryos are gently placed into the uterus. After the transfer process is completed, after waiting for a while for the embryos to develop and attach to the uterus, a pregnancy test is applied after 12 days after the transfer.
